Did they still work.
Car key went through washing machine. The washer was on the spin cycle when I got it out. When it was retrieved from the washer it no longer worked. And since Im the one that does the laundry in the house I dont have anyone but me to blame for not checking the pockets first.
First flip the fob button side down and let as much water drain out of it as possible. Insert master key into the ignition lock switch on the ignition do not start car. After I dried it I tried it to start the car and it worked.
We do have a spare set always a good idea as accidents happen. I took the fob apart and used a hair dryer to dry it. It took about 2 weeks for the new key to arrive from Germany with the correct physical coding.

Shake out as much water as you can and then buff the fob dry with a clean cloth. This is why I hate push to start keyless cars sometimes for. My key fob has been through the washing machine twice.
After fishing your key fob out of whatever puddle pool or washing machine focus on getting as much water out of the fob as possible before opening it up. This is usually simple to do especially if you have a Kia Hyundai or Vauxhall. Use your good key as the master key and follow this here.
