Next open the lid and insert a screwdriver into the lid switch actuator hole. The machine may not work at all if the lid switch is the culprit. The lid switch may be dirty enough to keep it from making a connection.

If your washer wont drain or spin the water level control may be faulty. Before you move onto more involved testing you can try a quick fix that may solve your lid switch problem. Turn off the water supply and disconnect water inlet hoses from the rear of the machine.

Use a long brush or forceful stream of water to clean the line. Even though you can hear it running the blades may not be turning. To diagnose this problem youll want to put the washer in a spin mode.
