Can you put basketball shoes in the washing machine. Machine washes are too harsh for shoes and can damage or discolour the materials. After the shoes have been washed remove them from the machine and put them on a drying rack until dry. You can also do this for basketball shoes with other colors apart from white but in that case you should only put the paste on the white soles to clean them.

If you wash the shoes alone they can end up on the same side of the washer drum which can make the washer lose balance. Remove any insoles and laces from your shoes. The night before wipe off as much dirt as possible with a brush cloth or an old toothbrush.

For starters you want to remove the shoelaces from your shoes. Remove laces and insoles To keep your laces from getting tangled remove them from the shoes and put them in a separate bag or pillowcase to go in the washer. You do not place your shoes into the same washer and dryer cycles of your clothing. If you choose to go this route make sure to put them in a laundry bag. Just make sure that you dont put your canvas shoes in the dryer.

Your shoelaces can be washed in the washing machine as long as you put them into a mesh garment bag that is zippered or secured shut. It depends on the model of New Balance shoes which you would like to wash. It can however be done.

If your machine has a drying rack accessory place them on it and select permanent press or similar cool setting. It is impossible to put a canvas shoe in the washing machine because it will tear if put in the washing machine. But understand that not all shoes are machine washable.
