Card information entered incorrectly.
My credit card went through the washing machine. This is also true for a credit card with chip or magnetic strip. True but not especially. The signature panel might dissolve.
The washer wont hurt the card appreciably unless the agitator blades beat it up which isnt all that likely if its in a pocket or wallet or the like. The heat from the dryer as well as the constant tumbling can leave the card bent or warped. You were soaked in a rainstorm.
First double-check what you entered into the text fields. Assuming that there are no scratches or cuts that compromise the integrity of the resinous coating your card should be safe going through the washing machine and being completely submerged. This will ruin the card because of the heat and bending not the water in the washing machine.
This is why the dryer is much more likely to damage your card than your washing machine. Double-check that your card details are correct and that youve used the right postal or zip code on your billing address. If a typo isnt the problem then the issue may be with your account.
Its more the case that Im an idioteasily distracted strike out where not applicable and. Sometimes your card will still be useable after this but dont be surprised if it stops working. If water gets under the stripe it might peel off.
Bending heating and stripe damaging would be. The plastic of a credit card could start melting at above 55C. Im not concerned about the card but rather the dryer.
