Why do german washing machines take so long. Washing machine wash times arent easily found so it would be nice to compile our own list. The 40 degree cotton wash is the most commonly used and therefore most relevant wash time to quote. Compared to the Auto programme that will save you around 523 kWh over a year.
If the water for some reason is not coming in like it should it would take more time to fill the machine thereby extending the cycle time. Plus usually you have 3 draw segments one for pre wash one for main wash and softenerso the machine would calculate how long it would take to disperse the washing powder and then rinse it after each time. Ive no idea why European machines take so long to do the washing though.
Why do the Miele washing machines take so long to do a wash cycle. There is an option timecare but it does. Therefore does not heat the water internally whereas the German one mine at least just has a cold water input.
Turning the temp up REALLY affects the cycle time because it has to heat that water itself. Well its sorted out by us accepting that some programs take a lot of time and understanding what the machine does. Washer does take cold water in which then gets heated up inside.
Also my washer has different functions which has different washing times. 3 Using so much hot water during a hot wash equals larger utility bills. Low water supply pressure coming into the washer could be the issue or it might be an obstruction or clogged filter or a restricted or faulty water inlet valve.
For some programs the machine weights the amount of laundry and then adjusts its washing duration. Theyre not in the machine long enough to even get washed. Jun 15th 2010 0727 AM 7 Fashionista.
