Oily spots - perhaps from HE laundry detergent.
My washing machine is leaving marks on my clothes. Most municipal water systems have at least some impurities which is perfectly normal. If you have been doing work behind your washer or with the standpipe in particular you will want to make sure it is properly adjusted. That would leave spots not lines.
Ive tried cold hot and warm water. The pre-wash cycle must be run without any detergent. It is not from the soap drawer as I wipe this out and it is not from rubber door seal as i wipe this out after every wash and leave the door slightly a jar.

Fabric softener or detergent. If there is a build-up of either in the drum of your washing machine then not only can this leave marks on clothes it can cause problems for the machine itself. The washing machine is on ya few months old and its a may tag.
If you have a place in the middle of your washer where the agitator is this is the place you are supposed to put liquid softener. Another possibility is that the rust is coming from the pipes not the washing machine. While it is good practice to wait until you have a full load to run your washing machine if you fill it too full your clothes will not be able to get clean.
